COLUMBIA — Columbia police are investigating a report of shots fired early Thursday morning at a gas station near Columbia College.

According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, two to three shots were fired from a dark-colored sedan at about 1:45 a.m. in the parking lot of the Petro Mart located at 500 N. College Ave.

An officer located the suspected vehicle later Thursday morning. After pursuing occupants who fled the vehicle, police arrested 28-year-old Corrice James on a charge of resisting arrest. According to the release, whether James was involved in the shots-fired incident is still unclear to investigators.
