QULIN — Authorities said the body of a 5-year-old southeast Missouri boy has been found in the St. Francis River.
Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs said searchers found the body of Devonte Dye on Monday morning after a search that began Sunday afternoon near Qulin.
Authorities said the boy had autism and would have been unable to respond verbally to search members.
KFVS reports that officials from Butler and Dunklin counties and the Missouri State Highway Patrol took part in the search. About 200 to 300 volunteers also showed up Sunday to help.
