Two workers seriously injured after scaffolding collapse

COLUMBIA — Two construction workers were seriously injured in a scaffolding collapse at the Katy Place Apartments Wednesday morning.

The workers were repairing siding on the south side of the complex at 1700 Forum Blvd. when their ladders and scaffolding collapsed, according to a news release from the Columbia Fire Department. They both fell about 30 feet. 

The workers were being treated at University Hospital on Wednesday morning.
