Margaret 'Jean' Preston active in church, involved in anti-abortion activities

COLUMBIA — Margaret "Jean" Preston of Columbia died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013. She was 83.

Margaret PrestonShe was born Dec. 4, 1929, in St. Louis to Dennis and Sarah (Bugler) McGrath.

She married Robert Preston on Feb. 6, 1960.

Mrs. Preston was active in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a member of the Legion of Mary. She was also involved in anti-abortion activities.

Mrs. Preston is survived by her son, Stephen Preston and his wife, Donna, of Columbia; her sister, Sally Neralich of St. Louis; and three grandchildren, Kelly, Thomas and Patrick Preston of Columbia.

Her husband, Robert Preston; and siblings, Francis, Andrew, Edward and Mary Rita, died earlier.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Drive. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
