COLUMBIA — The Battle High School girls' tennis team defeated Ursuline Academy 6-2, 6-2 on Thursday night.

Junior Clara Baldwin was able to use her experience on the court to guide freshman Gillian Schulte in a doubles match.

"With Clara's experience and leadership on the court, she was able to help Gillian work through the ups and downs of the match," Battle tennis coach John Mize said. "So much of tennis is managing the emotional highs and lows and either capitalizing on momentum or breaking momentum."
