Columbia College women's soccer defeats Lyon College

COLUMBIA — The Columbia College women's soccer team improved to 10-2-1 on Saturday by defeating Lyon College, 3-0.

Junior midfielder Tori Magaletta scored the Cougars' first goal five minutes into the first half. It is her sixth of the season. Freshman midfielder Carlie Howe scored the second goal in the 10th minute, and senior forward Rylee Bruhn sealed the win for Columbia College with a goal three minutes into the second half.

Freshman goalkeeper Flavia Rosado recorded three saves, while the Cougars' defense held Lyon College to just seven shots.

Senior midfielder Stephanie Hale, who leads the American Midwest Conference in assists, recorded her 16th and 17th in the first half.

The Cougars will host Park University on Oct. 17, and a win would earn the Cougars the top ranking in the American Midwest Conference.
