Stephens College volleyball falls in straight sets to William Woods

COLUMBIA — The Stephens College volleyball team remained winless in the American Midwest Conference after Monday's loss to William Woods.  Stephens fell in straight sets at Columbia's Silverthorne Arena on Monday 25-21, 25-14, 25-15.

William Woods outhit Stephens with a hitting average .433, out-dug the Stars 51-41 and out-blocked the Stars 8-1. 

The match started dead even with the two teams tying six times by the 11-11 mark in the first set. William Woods took control over the set and the match from there. Mistakes plagued the Stars throughout the night, giving up 14 points off of errors.

Stephens' next match is Thursday as it hosts Westminster College.
