Anna Laura Cannaday enjoyed time with family, exploring Colorado

COLUMBIA — Anna Laura Cannaday of Columbia died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, of pancreatic cancer. She was 67.

Mrs. Cannaday was born June 22, 1946, in Granite City, Ill., to Anson Eugene and Anna Maurine Milster. She married Gary Cannaday on June 8, 1969, in Columbia, and they recently celebrated their 44th anniversary.

"We were true soul mates," her husband said. He called her, "the love of my life."

They often explored the mountains of Colorado, and they enjoyed looking for treasures in antique stores, grabbing dinner at favorite restaurants and finishing the evening at the boat in Boonville. She also loved to spend time with family and friends.

Mrs. Cannaday is survived by her husband; one son, Christopher Cannaday (David) of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Shannon Dietzel (Mark) and Carrie Cannaday, both of Columbia; two brothers, Johnny Milster (Charlotte) of Montgomery City, Mo., and Frank Milster (Nancy) of Mexico, Mo.; two sisters, Chanda Wainscott (Tim) of Kansas City, Mo., and Sandra Freiling (Carl) of Ashland; and five grandchildren,  Andrea, Gary and Hannah Dietzel, Emma Adams and Lilly Cannaday.
