Missouri volleyball electrifies standings

COLUMBIA — The Missouri volleyball team continues its success after this weekend's play.

The 25-0 Tigers jumped four spots to No. 7 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll after defeating LSU (3-1) and Texas A&M (3-0) on the road this weekend. This is highest the Tigers have ever ranked, but it is the second time the Tigers have been ranked No.7, with the first coming in 2005 when Missouri spent three weeks there.

Freshman Carly Kan was also named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday. This is the fourth week in a row the Tigers have been awarded an SEC honor, and the first time Kan has been awarded SEC Player of the Week. Seniors Molly Kreklow and Lisa Henning were awarded the same honor earlier this month.

Following the success of the Missouri volleyball team, the Missouri athletics department and Mediacom Communications announced Monday that the next three Missouri volleyball home matches will be televised live on Mediacom 22.

The channel available to Mediacom viewers in and around the cities of Columbia and Jefferson City, as well as Springfield and its surrounding communities.

The matches set to be televised are against Mississippi at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Kentucky at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and Mississippi State at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 22.
