Ella Mae Aitkens Bright, Dec. 20, 1939 — Oct. 29, 2013

Ella Mae Aitkens Bright, 73, of Boonville, MO passed away the afternoon of October 29th, 2013. Mrs. Bright was born on December 20th, 1939, in Boone County to Robert Vaughan and Margaret Roberts. She married her first husband, Robert G. Aitkens, on December 24th, 1953, until his passing on August 7th, 2007. She was then united in marriage to Danny Bright on December 31st, 2011.

Mrs. Bright had many hobbies which included ceramics, playing bingo, enjoying the casinos, collecting dolls and boots, and dancing at the VFW hall. She loved babysitting her grandbabies and had a love of birds. She was a feisty grandma who was proud of her family, was never at a loss for words, was witty till the end, and above all she was a loving, caring person who was well loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Bright is survived by her husband, Danny Bright of Boonville; step-mom, Barbara Wheeler of Columbia; her seven children, Robert (Priscilla Stone) Aitkens of Clark, Danny (Susan) Aitkens of Hartsburg, Eddie (Karen) Aitkens of Centralia, Danny (Bernita) Bright Jr. of Boonville, Pam (Robert Morrison) Pohle of Boonville, Karen (Marc) Huggins of Boonville, and Joe (Tamara) Bright of North Carolina; three siblings, Patsy, Opal, and Gene; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Aitkens, one step-son, three siblings, and her parents.

A visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013, at 5:00 pm. Memorial service will commence at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left to the American Cancer Society, 1900 N Providence Rd #105 Columbia, MO 65202.
