COLUMBIA — Rock Bridge boys swimming won a crosstown championship meet Saturday against Hickman and Battle at Hickman High School.
Hickman was able to qualify its first state competitor when freshman Jared Larson made the state time in the 200 IM, winning the event with a 2:05.74. Caleb Rhodenbaugh from Rock Bridge was another freshman winner, taking the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.43 in his first attempt at the event.
Paul Cover, another Rock Bridge freshman, shared the 100 butterfly win with teammate and junior, Michael Rhodenbaugh. Other winners were Cooper John (RB) in the 50 free, Harry Stanton (RB) in the 100 free, Collin Pounds (Battle) in the 500 free, Michael Rhodenbaugh in the 100 back, and Matt McManus (RB) in the 100 breast.
All three teams will compete again at Hickman at 10 a.m. Nov. 9, when they will also host Hannibal and Marshall for the Last Chance Meet. State championships will be held in St. Peters on Nov. 15-16.
