Man charged with armed criminal action, assault and resisting arrest

COLUMBIA — Joshua Lee Hendren was charged Monday with armed criminal action, second-degree assault and resisting arrest.

Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an assault with a pistol at 8:06 p.m. Monday. Witnesses told deputies Hendren brandished and threatened a local tenant with the same pistol.

Deputies found Hendren at a nearby residence and a short struggle ensued. He was taken into custody and sent to Boone County Jail.

Hendren's bail amount totaled $9,000 for resisting arrest and second degree assault.
