COLUMBIA — Kenneth L. Carr, of Centralia, died Nov. 5, 2013, at Heritage Hall in Hallsville. He was 98.

Mr. Carr was born Sept. 28, 1915 in Fairfield, Iowa. He married Loretta Erma Carr, who died earlier. Mr. Carr was a World War II veteran. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling with his wife. He also loved animals, especially his special cat Smokey.

Mr. Carr in survived by one daughter, Darlene Carr Soltis, of Indiana; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and close friend Cheri Toalson Reisch, of Hallsville.

One brother, Lester Carr, and Mr. Carr's dog, Max, died earlier.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov.9, with a funeral service to begin at 10 a.m. The graveside service, including military honors, will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
