COLUMBIA — Expect to leave your coat on the hanger Saturday.

Temperatures in Columbia are expected to reach a high of 71 degrees, up 13 degrees from Friday's high of 58. The expected low for Saturday morning is 47 degrees.

Saturday's temperatures are expected to exceed the normal high of 54 and low of 35 for the day, based on temperatures over past 30 years, said Mark Britt, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in St. Louis.

However, this will not be a record high for the day. On Nov. 16, 1952, Columbia felt a high of 81 degrees, a number that has not been touched since.

The temperature will remain around 60 degrees Saturday night into Sunday morning, Britt said.

After a high of 60 on Sunday morning, temperatures are set to drop again when a cold front rolls in..
