Input sought Thursday about installing lights at American Legion field

Wednesday, November 20, 2013 | 3:44 p.m. CST

COLUMBIA — A public meeting for the American Legion east baseball field lights will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Activity and Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash St.

The project is estimated to cost $130,000, which will include the field lights and a lighting control system that would allow the city to turn the lights on and off remotely.

Recreation leagues schedule time to use the baseball fields, which are owned by the city.

After the meeting, the plan will be presented to the Columbia City Council for approval.
