David Lee Coleman enjoyed the outdoors, time with family

COLUMBIA — David Lee Coleman of Columbia died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013. He was 66.

Mr. Coleman was born March 14, 1947, in McBaine to Walter Coleman and Margaret Branch Coleman. He married Virginia Cunningham on Sept. 5, 1964, in Columbia.

He enjoyed the outdoors and outdoor activities such as fishing, camping and boating. He was also a NASCAR fan.

Mr. Coleman loved spending time with his family and friends and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Columbia; a son, Toby Coleman, and his wife, Angel, of Columbia; a daughter, Angela Holder, and her husband, Preston, of Columbia; a brother, Dean Coleman of Centralia; two sisters, Carol Bittle and her husband, Mike, of Sturgeon and Julie Heidi and her husband, Morris, of Independence; five grandchildren, Timothy Nichols and wife Sammi, Amanda Nichols and husband AJ, Jonathon Holder and wife Kaitlyn, Lexi Coleman, and Drew Coleman; a great-grandchild, Makenzie; and a great-grandchild on the way, Aiden David Nichols. 

One niece, Randi Coleman, died earlier.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will begin at 1 p.m. A committal service will be held immediately following the service at Nashville Church Cemetery.
