Friday, December 6, 2013 | 9:20 p.m. CST

The Tolton girl's basketball team won 48-40 at Pilot Grove on Friday.

Junior Hope Wright led scoring with 17 points. Tolton coach Curt Riley said defense was the key to the win.

"We finally started defending a lot better in the half court and forcing some difficult shots, and we started to rebound a little bit better," Riley said. "Our defense kicked in and we were able to do some scoring on the other end."

Tolton next game is at Sacred Heart at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
