Hickman boys basketball beats Jefferson City, advances to tournament final

COLUMBIA — The Hickman boys basketball team knocked off Jefferson City 68-56 Thursday night in the Blue Springs South/Blue Springs McDonald’s Tournament semifinal at Blue Springs High School.

The Kewpies improved to 7-0 on the season.

Hickman was led by junior guard Jimmy Whitt, who scored 24 points. Senior guards Chris Clark and Douglas Johnson also chipped in with 18 and 17 points apiece.

The Kewpies will take to the court in the tournament's final at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Blue Springs.
