COLUMBIA — The Boone County Sheriff's Department is investigating reports of a burglary at a convenience store on St. Charles Road.

Deputies were dispatched to the Kwik BP convenience store, 5701 St. Charles Road, at about 3:18 a.m. Sunday in response to a front door alarm, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Department. When deputies arrived at the store, they found evidence of a forced entry.

They searched the building but didn't find anyone inside. The owner of the business reported that an undisclosed amount of money had been taken from the store.

The sheriff's department is asking that anyone with more information contact Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
