Harry Donald Bailey 93, of Columbia, MO, passed away December 21, 2013 at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital from natural causes.

Don was born February 3, 1920 in Mansfield, Pennsylvania to Arthur W. Bailey and Ethel B. Stickler Bailey. He married Rosemary Flaitz on April 19, 1941 in Hornell, New York. He was a World War II veteran awarded six battle stars. He retired as manager of Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and worked at Wyoming County Community Hospital after retirement. Don was a member of the VFW, Moose International, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, Arkansas Wood Carvers, National Audubon Society, and enjoyed being a part of the choir delivering many music ensembles.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Ward Bailey, his mother, Ethel B. Bailey, and three sisters, Jeannette, Francis, and Josephine.

Don is survived by his wife of 73 years, Rosemary Bailey, a daughter, Donna Rae Leith, a son, Robert G. Bailey, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held for family members.
