Police respond to shots fired Monday in northeast Columbia

COLUMBIA — Police responded to a shots fired incident in northeast Columbia early Monday.

According to a Columbia Police Department news release, officers were dispatched after receiving reports that multiple shots had been fired near Boyd Lane in northeast Columbia shortly before 4 a.m. Monday. When police arrived, officers found four shell casings in the street near the 1500 block of Boyd Lane.

There have not been any reported injuries, and no property was damaged, according to the release.

Police do not have any suspect information, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
