COLUMBIA — Three armed men invaded and robbed a residence in north Columbia on Sunday evening.
According to a Columbia Police Department news release, three men with handguns entered a house on the 1100 block of Elleta Boulevard through an unlocked front door around 6 p.m. Sunday. Two women and a man were at the house when the men entered, and the suspects demanded that the victims give them money and property.
The armed men took one item from the residence before fleeing on foot.
Columbia police responded to a call from one of the victims at 6:22 p.m., Officer Latisha Stroer said. The first officers arrived at the residence at 6:30 p.m.
Officers used a police dog to identify an area where the suspects might have had a vehicle.
The suspects were described as wearing dark clothing and masks and stood between 5 foot 4 inches and 5 foot 9 inches tall, according to the release.
Officer Stroer said the investigation is ongoing.
