Woman assaulted, robbed in southwest Columbia

COLUMBIA — A woman was physically assaulted and robbed while she was getting out of her car at about 7:30 p.m. Friday on Millbrook Drive, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

A man approached the woman and demanded she give him money, then he assaulted her and took some of her belongings, Sgt. Kenneth Boyce said in a news release. The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim described the assailant as a man around 5'6" with a stocky build.

No arrest has been made. The Sheriff's Department declined to comment further.
