Columbia resident hospitalized for gunshot wound

COLUMBIA — Someone was shot early Saturday morning in north Columbia, according to a Boone County Sheriff's Department media release.

Deputies responded at 1:29 a.m. to a report of shots fired at 5900 Wagon Trail Road. They found a male wounded by a gunshot. The person was transported to the hospital, treated and released before Saturday afternoon. No further identification of the victim was available.

No arrest was made. Police urge anyone with information about this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
