COLUMBIA — Richard M. Rauscher, 67, of Columbia passed away December 27, 2013 peacefully at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 with the visitation from 2:00 until 3:30PM and the service immediately following.
He will be interred at Jacksonville Veteran’s Park on Thursday, January 2.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Research of Columbia, Missouri.
Richard was born on January 20, 1946 in Overland, Missouri. He had a Masters degree in English. He is a Vietnam Navy veteran. Richard was a devout St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He was a loving husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and son. He was a talented musician, playing guitar and harmonica, and passed this love onto his family members. He loved Bob Dylan, classic cinema, Civil War history, and books of any kind. He had a strong Catholic faith. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred, and two brothers, Fred Jr. and Bill.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, stepdaughter Samantha, granddaughter Georgia, mother Josephine, sister Mary Jo, brothers Ron, Steve and Dan, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Tributes can be left online at www.memorialfuneralhomeandcemetery.com.
