COLUMBIA — One person was injured in an accident at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Chapel Hill Road and Scott Boulevard. Two trucks and a car were involved in the accident, Officer Latisha Stroer said.

The 49-year-old driver of the car was taken to University Hospital and later released after receiving treatment, Stroer said.

The three vehicles all sustained moderate to heavy damage and a fuel leak from one of the vehicles was quickly contained, according to a Columbia Fire Department press release.

The three vehicles were towed at the scene, Stroer said. Both of the drivers of the trucks were 17 years old.

Two units from the fire department arrived on the scene at about 9:41 a.m., Battalion Chief Brad Fraizer said. Firemen observed three vehicles upright on the road when they arrived, Frazier said.

Two units from Columbia Police Department were dispatched, and the first officer arrived at 9:37 a.m, Stroer said.
