Lowry Henley of Columbia, MO died Tuesday, January 7, 2014. He was 91 years old.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

Mr. Henley was born September 20, 1922, in Joplin, MO to H. A. (Hez) and Niena Isherwood Henley. He married Jane Deason on June 7, 1947, in Port Arthur, TX.

Mr. Henley graduated from Hickman High School where he was Kewpie golf captain and lettered in golf. After serving in the Army during World War II, Mr. Henley graduated from the University of Missouri where he played on the 1949 Big Seven conference championship golf team. He retired from the University of Missouri as Assistant Director for the Memorial Union and Brady Commons.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ware and her husband, David Ware of St. Louis, MO; a son, Robert Henley and his wife, Cynthia Henley, of Independence, MO; a sister, Martha Goodwin of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, his parents, and three brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to University of Missouri Athletics Golf Scholarship Fund.
