Cloris M. Gibson Tyler, 91, of Columbia, died January 11, 2014.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow immediately at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Tyler was born February 14, 1922, in Hot Springs, SD to Charles and Helen Cleaver Gage. Cloris married O.L. (Hoot) Gibson and he preceded her in death. She later married Loyd (Frenchie) Tyler and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Tyler retired from Stephens College where she worked in the Cultural Events Office and TV, Radio and Film Office for 25 years.

Survivors include her children, Charles Gibson and wife Ginger of Columbia, daughter Linda Gibson and husband Bruce Finnie of Graham, WA, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and three nephews. She is also survived by stepdaughters; Penny Inglis of ID, Jeananne Wannamaker of OR and stepson, Mark Tyler and wife Linda of SC and several step grandchildren.

Also, preceding her in death are her parents, a brother, Charles Gage and one son, Don S. Gibson.
