Missouri women finish 2nd, men 3rd in double dual swimming meet

Missouri men's and women's swimming put up mixed results in a double dual meet against Tennessee and Virginia Tech  Saturday in Knoxville, Tenn.

Tigers junior Loren Figueroa earned wins in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard, and fellow junior Danielle Barbiea won the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter fly. Missouri (3-4, 0-4 Southeastern Conference) beat the Hokies 163-137 in the first leg of the meet and lost to No. 15 Tennessee 192.5-106.5.

The men were swept on their side of the competition, with a 164-136 loss to No. 15 Virginia Tech and a 175-125 loss to the Volunteers. Senior diver David Bonuchi earned a win on the 3-meter springboard, and junior Sam Tierney won the 100- and 200-meter breast stroke.
