Dorothy Fletcher enjoyed sewing, crocheting

COLUMBIA —Dorothy Fletcher of Columbia died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. She was 88.

Mrs. Fletcher was born to Eli and Maude (Auker) Moyer on Sept. 10, 1925, in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She married to Lyall Fletcher in Gladwyne, Pa., on Sept. 11, 1948.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and Lions Club International. In her spare time, Mrs. Fletcher enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

She was a graduate of the the nursing program at Bryn Mawr College and met her husband while working at a hospital in Ithaca, N.Y.

Mrs. Fletcher is survived by three children, Richard E. Fletcher and his wife, Charlotte, of Rocky Hill, Conn., Judith Lewis of Jefferson City, and Deborah Fletcher of Jefferson City; two brothers, Harold Moyer of Rancho Mirage, Calif., and Ervin Moyer and his wife, Edie, of Sun City Center, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Lisa Gates and her husband, Brian, of Marcellus, N.Y., Jennifer Littlefield and her husband, Robert, of Wilmington, Vt., Heather Liddell of Lone Oak, Texas, Richard T. Fletcher of Wilmington, Vt., James Lewis and his wife, Jennifer, of Bedford, Texas, Daniel Stock of Afghanistan, and Leah Stock of Jefferson City; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Fletcher's husband, Lyall Fletcher, and son-in-law, Jerry Lewis, died earlier.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Lenoir Woods, 3710 S. Lenoir St.
