Columbia College women's basketball downs Mid-Continent

COLUMBIA — Sophomore transfer Janairrika Bland led the Lady Cougars with 12 points and 11 rebounds in Columbia's 87-53 win over American Midwest Conference newcomer Mid-Continent (Ky.) University on Tuesday.

It was the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The win improved Columbia's record to 11-4 (7-0 AMC). It was head coach Mike Davis' 301st career victory at Columbia.

The Lady Cougars are scheduled to play crosstown rival Stephens College at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Arena of Southwell Complex.
