Jefferson City boys basketball pulls away late to beat Battle

COLUMBIA — The Battle boys basketball team had a nice first half, but Jefferson City controlled the second half. Battle was outscored by 18 points in the second half during Tuesday's 60-36 loss. 

Battle is now 2-13 overall this season. 

Jefferson City trailed 9-6 after the first quarter and held a 25-19 lead at halftime. The lead was up to 42-27 after the third quarter for Jefferson City. 

Daviante Ostrander led Battle with 11 points. Trey Smith added eight points and Devonte Brown scored five points for Battle.

Battle's next game is Friday at DeSmet Jesuit in St. Louis.
