Marjorie O. “Vicki” Love, 90 years young of Columbia, MO, was called to heaven on Monday, January 13, 2014. Visitation will be held at the Memorial Funeral Home chapel on Friday, January 17, 2014, from 5 to 8PM. Mass and service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11AM.

Marjorie was born on September 3, 1923 in Boonville, MO, to Frank S. Zoeller and Olivia M. Klein. She married Dr. John Love Jr. on May 18, 1942 in Boonville, MO.

Marjorie graduated valedictorian in 1941 from SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Boonville, MO, and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. She retired in 1985, after 22 years as Senior Research Technician of the Herbarium Biological Sciences Department, UMO-Columbia. Previous positions include Secretary to the principal, UMO Lab School; Stenographer, Guidance and Counseling, UMO; Mail Clerk & Clerk-typist, MFA Insurance, Columbia; Bookkeeper-Cashier, J.C. Penny Co., Boonville, MO; and bookkeeper, Boonville Electric Company.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Columbia, MO; the Daughters of Isabella Lillis Circle 250 of Boonville, MO, Charter Member; the Missouri Native Plant Society; and the Central Missouri Rock and Lapidary Club and served as secretary for many years. She had many displays at the Columbia Library.

She and John had lived in Cincinnati, OH, and Stillwater, OK. They visited most of the 50 states, the Canadian Provinces and many times in the Maritime Provinces.

Her hobbies included gardening; quilting; philately; rock hounding, traveling and photography. She had her wildflower pictures published in 6 volumes of H. W. Ricketts Wildflowers of the United States.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one brother, George Zoeller; one sister, Agnes Zoeller; two sister-in-laws and three brother-in-laws.

She is survived by one brother, Frank P. Zoeller of Boonville, MO; five sisters, Frankie Potter of Kent, WA, Sarah Twenter and Rita Young of Boonville, MO, Dolores Foster (Don) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Dorlene Weed (Jack) of St. Louis, MO; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great, great-nieces, and great, great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, suggested memorial contributions to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or Humane Society of Columbia.
