Columbia College women's basketball trounces Stephens in 113-41 victory

Janairrika Bland scored 22 points as Columbia College dominated crosstown rival Stephens 113-41 in a women's basketball game Thursday night at the Arena of Southwell Complex.

The Cougars scored 23 of the game's first 25 points en route to their eighth straight victory. Ranked No. 17 in this week's NAIA Top 25 Poll, Columbia is now 12-4 overall and 8-0 in the American Midwest Conference.

Seven Cougars finished in double figures as Columbia shot 58 percent as a team.

The Cougars will play No. 2 Freed-Hardeman (16-0 overall, 8-0 in the AMC) on Saturday for first-place in the conference. The game is at 2 p.m. in Henderson, Tenn.
