Second Columbia man in Thursday I-70 accident pronounced dead

COLUMBIA – The passenger involved in a single vehicle accident Thursday night on I-70 is dead, a University Hospital spokeswoman said.

Eric R. Lewis of Columbia was ejected from the car driven by Jeremy Tremblay after it went off the road and overturned multiple times Thursday night, according to a news release. Both men were thrown from the car while it was airborne.

Lewis was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries Thursday night. Tremblay was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the release.
