Columbia College women's basketball streak ends

The Columbia College women's eight-game winning streak cam to an end with a 95-68 loss to Freed-Hardeman University Saturday in Henderson, Tenn.

With the loss, Columbia falls to 12-5 overall and 8-1 in the American Midwest Conference. Freed-Hardeman, in its first year as a member of the conference, is 9-0 (17-0 0verall).

Corri Hamilton finished with a career-high 16 points to lead Columbia, which shot a season low 34 percent from the floor and committed 25 turnovers.

The Cougars will return to Columbia to host Benedictine University-Springfield on January 23. Thursday's game will also be part of the annual Suits and Sneakers event to benefit Coaches vs. Cancer. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
