Hickman girls basketball win Smith-Cotton Classic

Junior Emily Miller scored 19 points and was named tournament MVP after leading the Hickman High School girls' basketball team to a 57-46 win over Nixa in the championship of the Smith-Cotton Classic in Sedalia on Saturday.

Hickman, ranked No. 3 in the state in Class 5, improved to 17-0 with its win over the eighth-ranked team.

Seniors Kendahl Adams and Jordan Matthews also made the all-tournament team for their three-game performances. Meanwhile, junior Katie Storm and sophomore Morgan Jones were key in the final game, scoring eight apiece.

Hickman plays at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Bridge.
