Shots fired early Sunday morning at north Columbia sports bar

COLUMBIA  — A woman told police that a man fired shots at her car in the parking lot of a sports bar in north Columbia early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched toSidelines Sports Bar on Big Bear Boulevard at 1:34 a.m. , according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

The victim, 29, told police the suspect followed her around the bar before he shot at her car, according to the release. The victim was shot at several times while sitting in her car outside the bar. She was not injured, and officers located two bullet holes in the victim's vehicle along with seven shell casings on the ground.

The suspect fled the area on foot and was tracked by the Boone County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit but has not been located. According to the release, officers are checking for video surveillance in the area, and the investigation is ongoing.
