William Robinson volunteered with the AARP to help others file taxes

COLUMBIA — William “Bill” Robinson, of Columbia died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. He was 80.

Mr. Robinson was born March 31, 1933, to the late William and Irene (Austin) Robinson.

On July 10, 1954, he married Carole Dodson in St. Louis.

Mr. Robinson served in the United States Air Force for 25 years. He also worked at MU for 25 years. Mr. Robinson volunteered with the AARP to assist others with filing taxes. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles number 2730, the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Carole; two children, Sabine Robinson of St. Louis and Jim Robinson of Columbia; and grandchildren, Megan Miller and her husband, Joe, and Scott Robinson, all of Columbia, and Kelli Robinson of Colby, Kan.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or to the American Heart Association.
