No injuries in apartment fire on Claudell Lane

Firefighters were dispatched at 2:40 p.m. to the fire at 1006 Claudell Lane. Two people, one adult and one child, were in the apartment, and both escaped safely. The cause of the fire is not yet released.

COLUMBIA — No one was injured in an apartment building fire Monday afternoon on Claudell Lane.

Columbia firefighters were dispatched at 2:40 p.m. One adult and one child were inside the building, and both escaped safely.

*The fire caused about $65,000 in damage, and a Columbia Fire Department investigation determined that it was caused by unattended cooking.
