The Missouri softball team was ranked No. 17 in the Softball Collegiate Top 25 preseason poll. This is the team's seventh consecutive preseason being ranked in the top 25.

Seven other Southeastern Conference teams — No. 1 Tennessee, No. 3 Florida, No. 6 Alabama, No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 14 Kentucky, No. 19 LSU and No. 21 Georgia — join Missouri in the top 25.

The Tigers finished last season 38-14 overall and 15-8 in the SEC and advanced to their sixth consecutive NCAA Super Regional appearance. They were ranked No. 11 by both the Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll and the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll at the end of the season.

Missouri kicks off the 2014 season with the Black & Gold Exhibition on Feb. 8 in the Devine Practice Facility.
