COLUMBIA – The Stephens College women's basketball team fell 84-19 to No. 2 Freed-Hardeman University on Thursday.
Freed-Hardeman (20-0, 12-0 American Midwest Conference) jumped out to an early 32-4 lead in the first 15 minutes as the Stars struggled from the field. Stephens rallied in the last five minutes of the first half, outscoring the Lions 8-4.
The Stars could not carry that momentum into the second half, as it took eight minutes for the team to hit its first field goal. This would prove to be the first of only two field goals the team made in the final half.
Stephens was led by Sophomore Seleena Neal in the scoring column, who had eight points in the game.
Stephens (0-18, 0-12 AMC) remains without a win on the season and looks to rebound from this tough loss. The team's next game is 2 p.m. on Saturday at Missouri Baptist.
