COLUMBIA — On Tuesday, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) named Columbia College junior Tanner Sutton to the Allstate NABC Good Works Team.
The Allstate NABC Good Works team honors 10 men and 10 women college basketball players who have helped their community off the court.
His contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Columbia, Camp Barnabas in Purdy, Mo., and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at Columbia College led him to being included on the 2014 Good Works Team.
"Tanner excels in the classroom, on the court, and is committed to serving others," Columbia men's basketball coach Bob Burchard said in a statement released by the NABC. "The Columbia College community is proud of Tanner and how he represents our men's basketball program, the athletic department, and our institution."
Sutton is averaging eight points and 2.4 rebounds per game this season. Columbia is 22-2 this season.
