COLUMBIA — Inclement weather in Athens, Ga. forced coaches from the Missouri and Georgia gymnastics teams to cancel the meet between the two teams that had been scheduled for Friday. There are currently no plans to reschedule the meet.

According to the National Weather Service, by Wednesday evening Winter Storm Pax had already dropped over four inches of snow on Athens, Ga., where the University of Georgia is located. Another one-to-three inches is forecast for Wednesday night.

In place of the Georgia meet, Missouri will travel to St. Charles, Mo. to participate in a meet with Lindenwood and Illinois State universities on Friday.

Missouri and Lindenwood met earlier this season on Dec. 22 at the Hearnes Center for an exhibition match. Missouri won 191.950-179.550.
