COLUMBIA — After going 2-0 at home last weekend against Buffalo and Eastern Michigan, No. 10 Missouri looks to remain undefeated at Hearnes Center this season against Old Dominion (8-8) on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday is also Senior Night for four Tigers.
Missouri (8-2, 5-1) is heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Tigers have gotten the best of Old Dominion historically, with a 7-0-1 all-time record against the Monarchs.
However, Old Dominion will enter Columbia hot, having won five straight duals. If the Tigers snap that winning streak, they'll also earn coach Brian Smith his 200th career win in his 17th year as a college wrestling coach.
The key bouts appear to be in the 141-pound and 149-pound weight classes. Ranked No. 20 in the nation, Missouri freshman Lavion Mayes (22-9) looks to upset Old Dominion's Chris Mecate (23-6), who is ranked No. 4 nationally.
That will be followed by Missouri junior Drake Houdashelt, who is the country's No. 1 149-pound wrestler. Houdashelt will aim to extend his current 18-match winning streak but he'll have to top Old Dominion University's Alexander Richardson, ranked No. 14.
The four Tiger seniors to be honored before Sunday's dual are Taylor Ronan, Zack Toal, Jordan Gagliano and Eric Wilson. The dual will begin at 1 p.m. It will be Missouri's final home meet of the season.
