COLUMBIA — For the first time in more than 30 years, the Olympics are taking place on Russian soil.

The games, which began on Feb. 7, have had both exciting and disappointing moments. Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland won a gold medal in cross-country skiing with a fractured foot.
