Stephens women's basketball falls to Williams Baptist

Saturday, February 15, 2014 | 7:29 p.m. CST

Five players reached double-figures as Williams Baptist beat Stephens College women's basketball 73-54 on Saturday, dropping the Stars to 0-23 overall and 0-17 in the American Midwest Conference.

Saturday's game in Walnut Ridge, Ark. was a bit closer than the first time the teams met, when Stephens fell 90-33.

But Seleena Neal's game-high 23 points wasn't enough to bring the Stars to their first win of the season.

After leading by just three points at halftime, Williams Baptist used a 14-2 run to pull away in the second half.

Senior guard Jenna Zmyslony finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and two blocks for the Stars.

The Stars will return home for a pair of mid-week game against Park and No. 12 Columbia College on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. Both games are set for 7 p.m.
