Shirley Ann Gallatin turned her love for hair, makeup into a career

COLUMBIA — Shirley Ann Gallatin turned her love for hair and makeup into a career behind Dillard's department stores' cosmetic counters.

She died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. She was 70.

She was born July 28, 1943, in Columbia to Mary Judah and Vilas Judah. 

Ms. Gallatin grew up in Columbia and graduated from Hickman High School in 1962.

For many years she worked at Dillard's cosmetic counters in St. Louis County. She received the department store's "Pace Setter of The Year" award in 1991 for her sales techniques and desire to help others look their best.

She also loved animals and the great outdoors.

Ms. Gallatin is survived by her children, Kelly Mixer and Tom Kribben; an aunt, Helen Judah; an uncle, Dan Tucker and his wife, Opal; a cousin, Mike Stroud and his wife, Barbara; and cousin Ellen Krueger.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will follow in the funeral home's chapel. Burial will follow the services at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 W.
