Rock Bridge's Kelley Tackett wins 200- and 500-yard freestyle

COLUMBIA — Rock Bridge sophomore Kelley Tackett won the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle state championship heats on Saturday. Tackett won the 200-yard freestyle by 2.45 seconds and the 500-yard freestyle by 2.69 seconds.

Tackett was also part of the Rock Bridge 200-yard freestyle relay team that placed eighth and the 400-yard freestyle relay team which also placed eighth.

Rock Bridge finished 12th out of 49 teams and Hickman tied for last place.

Other local swimmers who competed at states include Rock Bridge junior Althea Felton, who finished in 16th in the 100-yard freestyle, and Hickman sophomore Maddie Beahan, who finished 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke.
