Robbery at gunpoint reported early Sunday morning in northeast Columbia

COLUMBIAA robbery at gunpoint was reported in northeast Columbia shortly after midnight Sunday morning. 

Boone County Sheriff's deputies arrived around 12:30 a.m to the 700 block of Demaret Drive in response to the reported robbery. The two victims, a man and a woman, reported they were robbed at gunpoint by three men as they got out of their vehicle. 

The suspects demanded and took an undisclosed amount of money from the victims. One suspect assaulted the male victim, but the victim was not injured. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area.

The Sheriff's Department did not immediately return messages Sunday. Anyone with information about this incident should contact Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS or the Boone County Sheriff's Department at 875-1111.
